When I first heard BREAK MY SOUL by Beyoncé, I felt seen.
I was in a situation with a job that stressed me out, and wanted to break free. It was a constant battle some days not to let the stressful responsibilities ruin my mood for the entire day.
This painting began with the star design and a bold pink outline. From there, I kept adding more colorful lines and turned the background into a geometric design.
The message of the song is powerful - it feels like wanting to break free. The cheetah in the bottom corner is screaming out the words. I chose this majestic figure to represent power and tenacity, much like Beyoncé.
